HOW IT WORKS

A clear picture of your dog’s everyday care

Marrowbone brings meals, nutrition, weight and activity together in one place, helping you build a useful record, recognise changes and share the bigger picture with the people involved in your dog’s care.

01

Start with your dog

Create a profile using the details that help give context to their record, including age, weight, breed, activity level and feeding approach. Every dog has their own profile, making it easy to manage one dog or a whole household without mixing their information.

02

Build the record as you go

Log meals, treats and supplements alongside weight, walks, training, rest days and other activities. Find foods in the product database, scan a barcode or add a product when it isn’t already available.

Supplements and treats contribute relevant nutritional information while remaining distinct from meals. The record grows naturally through the things you already do each day.

03

Understand what’s in the bowl

Not every product declares every nutrient. When product-specific information is unavailable, Marrowbone may use a recognised food-composition reference, or show that the value is unknown. All estimates and sources are clearly identified.

Marrowbone organises the available nutritional information into a clearer daily view. Explore calories and macronutrients, available vitamins and minerals, fatty acids, fibre and protein variety. Move between daily, seven-day and 30-day views to see more than a single meal in isolation.

04

Follow changes over time

A single entry captures a moment. A consistent history reveals a pattern. Follow changes across meals, weight, activity and other records to build a clearer picture of your dog’s routine and how that connects to their wellbeing. This history can help you recognise patterns and prepare questions for your vet or canine nutrition professional. Marrowbone helps you observe and organise information; it does not diagnose or interpret changes as medical conditions.

05

Share the picture, not just a number

Sharing a useful record can make care conversations easier. Export reports for your vet or canine nutrition professional, or invite family members to a dog’s profile so they can contribute daily tracking input.

A useful record, ready to share. You remain in control of who is invited to a dog’s profile. Invited family members can add daily tracking input; exported reports provide a clear snapshot for care conversations.

Made for one dog, or the whole family

Switch between dogs while keeping every profile, meal history and nutrition view distinct. Household summaries provide a convenient overview without combining one dog’s nutrition, weight or activity data with another’s. Family members can be invited to contribute daily tracking input to the profiles you share with them, ensuring your dog gets all the care they need.

When information needs to leave the app, export the relevant record for a vet or canine nutrition professional.

Useful information, with limits
made clear

The nutritional information available for dog food varies considerably. Marrowbone identifies where information comes from and communicates its limitations rather than presenting every value as equally certain. This transparency helps you understand not only the numbers, but how much confidence to place in them.

Product label: transcribed from the product’s packaging

Reference database: taken from a recognised food-composition source

What Marrowbone doesn’t do

Does not diagnose health conditions

Does not prescribe therapeutic diets

Does not replace veterinary advice

It cannot guarantee complete nutritional information for every product or promote one feeding method as right for every dog. Marrowbone is a tracking and educational tool, not a clinical nutrition assessment.

Marrowbone provides general tracking and informational tools. It does not provide veterinary diagnosis or clinical nutrition advice. Individual needs vary; consult your vet or a qualified canine nutrition professional about medical concerns or therapeutic diets.
